2018 Toyota Camry nominated as Green Car of the Year

For decades, the Toyota Camry has been known for its style and dependability. The Camry has always been at the forefront of technology both inside the vehicle and under the hood. With the addition of Toyota's Hybrid technology, the Camry is turning heads in the green vehicle market and the Green Car Journal has noticed.

The 2018 Toyota Camry was named one of five finalists for the 2018 Green Car of the Year award with the winner to be announced on Nov. 30.

"This year's Green Car of the Year® finalists reflect the continuing evolution of the automobile and the drive toward ever-greater environmental compatibility," said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of the award-winning Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com. "Each address environmental performance in distinct ways, using battery electric propulsion, highly-efficient internal combustion alone or combined with electric drive, and even hydrogen fuel cell power. Importantly, these are exciting and fun-to-drive models offering consumers varying ways to drive 'green' that fit their unique needs and sensibilities, and are readily available to the mass market."

The Camry comes with three new powertrains: a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder, a 3.5 liter V6 and a Hybrid. Green Car Journal praised the Toyota Camry for its fuel efficiency and its fun-to-drive character.
